The Anand Karaj of Kirandeep Kaur (alias Kalavati), a girl from the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society family, was solemnized with Navjot Singh, son of Harjinder Singh, resident of Ward No. 11, Gali Joginder Singh Wali, Kajikot Road, Tarn Taran–143401.
The ceremony took place on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at the Gurdwara Sahib located in the Manawala Branch of the Pingalwara institution, Amritsar, with full religious devotion and in accordance with Sikh traditions.
On this sacred occasion, members of the Pingalwara Management Committee, sewadars (volunteers), staff members, the congregation, and members of the Pingalwara family participated enthusiastically. In the holy presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, all rituals of the Anand Karaj were performed with great reverence. Following the Ardas, the newlywed couple received blessings from the sangat.
This marked the 72nd Anand Karaj of a girl from the Pingalwara family. Notably, it was also the fifth Anand Karaj of a deaf and mute couple arranged by the institution. Previously, Pingalwara had successfully organized the marriages of four other hearing- and speech-impaired daughters.
As both newlyweds are unable to hear and speak, the ceremony was conducted with special assistance through sign language. During the Anand Karaj, trained teachers interpreted the meanings of Gurbani, the Laavaan (sacred marriage hymns), and the entire ceremony through gestures, enabling the couple to fully understand each ritual and experience the sanctity of this sacred bond.
Pingalwara also ensured that the newlywed couple was provided with household items, clothing, essential goods, and other necessary support so they could begin their married life with dignity.
Members of the management committee stated that the institution’s mission goes beyond providing treatment and shelter—it also aims to ensure dignity, security, and a stable future for children with special needs. Such Anand Karaj ceremonies promote the values of equality, compassion, and humanity in society. The gathering offered prayers for the couple’s happy, successful, and prosperous married life.
On this occasion, the couple received blessings from Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Vice President Dr. Jagdeep Singh, Rajbir Singh, Rajinder Singh (Administrator, Manawala Branch), Tilak Raj (General Manager), Rajinderpal Singh (Director, Deaf School), Harpal Singh (Caretaker), former Inspector Rajvinder Kaur, along with medical staff, hostel in-charges, and other dignitaries.
The premises of the Manawala Branch of Pingalwara were filled with joy and celebration, marking yet another inspiring milestone in the institution’s continued service to humanity.
