Under the aegis of the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar, and the Pingalwara Society of Ontario (Canada), the Bhagat Puran Singh Institute for Special Needs runs two diploma courses—D.Ed. Special Education (H.I.) and D.Ed. Special Education (I.D.D.). Free education is provided to all enrolled students.
A Community-Based Rehabilitation Programme was organized by the institute on 03 November 2025 (Monday) at the Pahal Resource Centre, in which 38 students from the institute participated. The Pahal Resource Centre currently supports 132 children with disabilities.
During the programme, detailed discussions were held with parents to identify the challenges faced by their children and to explore possible solutions. Parents were informed that the Pingalwara institution is available to provide support and assistance for addressing these issues. Information was also shared with parents and staff about the various activities being conducted at the centre for the holistic development of the children.
On this occasion, Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, Mukh Sevadar of Pingalwara, encouraged the children to actively participate in such programmes. Course Coordinator Sunita Nayar, Anuradha, and the In-charge of the Pahal Resource Centre, Sukhvinder Singh, along with other staff members, were also present.
