Free Education for Deaf Children
Out of 22 districts of Punjab, 11 districts do not have dedicated school for the deaf children . In the last two years Pingalwara has opened 5 elementary schools in Attari, Buttar kalan(Kadian), Sarhali (TarnTaran), Katora (Ferozepur) with the main school being at Manawala, Amritsar
On 10th May, 2018 the sixth school at Kakkon, Hoshiarpur was inaugurated by Bibi Dr. Inderjit kaur, President of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar. The building for the school has been provided by Bhai Kanihya Society, Tanda and Asha Kiran welfare Society, Hoshiarpur. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Inderjit kaur highlighted the problems of the deaf children and urged the parents to send their children to the school regularly. She also informed that 7 districts of Punjab are still without schools for the deaf and Pingalwara aims to fill this gap in these 7 districts in the coming years.
S. Ravinder Singh Sodhi from Pingalwara Society of Ontario spoke about the wholehearted contribution of the well-wishers of Pingalwara from Canada in the field of education. He assured that this contribution will continue in future.
On this occasions. Malkiat Singh Maheru, President of Asha Kiran Welfare Society and its members; S. Ujjal Singh, President Bhai Kanihya Society, Tanda and their members; S. Mohinder Pal Singh Baweja from Hoshiarpur ; Mrs Sudesh from Garhshankar and others were present.
