First Punjab Judo competition for the senior deaf persons organized by Punjab Deaf Sports Association
was held at All India Pingalwara Charitable Society Amritsar at its Manawala branch on 29 th November
2017. A total of 11 participants took part in the competition. The winners were Gursharan Pal
Singh(Amritsar) first, Anil Kumar (Amritsar) second in the 60 Kg weight category; Arshdeep Singh
(Amritsar) first in the 66 kg category; Sumit Soni (Bathinda) in the 73 Kg weight category and Amritpal
Sharma in the 81 weight category. In the girls 48 kg weight category, Parminder kaur (Amritsar) first and
Upasna(Amritsar) was second. The winners would participate in the National championship to be held at
Ranchi(Jharkhand) from 1-6th t December 2017. The championship was supervised by Judo coach
Karamjit Singh and conducted by Miss Pooja.
