Save Water, Save Humanity: A Tribute to Bhagat Puran Singh Ji on His 121st Birth Anniversary

Today, on the occasion of the 121st birth anniversary of Bhagat Puran Singh Ji, founder of the Pingalwara organization, a Rally is organized “Save Water, Save Humanity” in the form of a grand procession. It started from the main office of the Pingalwara organization and concluded at Bhai Gurdas Hall, Town Hall.

On this occasion, the Mukh Sewadar of the organization, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, began the rally with a prayer and shared that many decades ago, Bhagat Puran Singh Ji had already expressed his concern over the pollution of natural resources like water, air and earth. Today, the whole world is witnessing that his concerns are proving to be true. She said the purpose of organizing this rally is to raise awareness among people who are still not conscious of  how vital it is to preserve natural resources like air, water, and the environment for ourselves and for our future generations. She emphasized that this rally was organized to spread this message globally.

Students from various schools participated in the rally, including:

  • Bhagat Puran Singh Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Mananwala
  • Bhagat Puran Singh Adarsh High School, Butter Kalan
  • Bhagat Puran Singh School for the Deaf
  • Bhagat Puran Singh Special Education School
  • Bhagat Puran Singh Institute for Special Needs
  • Citizen Forum Vidya Mandir

The students raised slogans and displayed messages on placards and posters advocating for water conservation, making a commendable effort to spread awareness among the public.

The rally concluded at Bhai Gurdas Hall, where several environmental activists, including S. Jaskirat Singh, Col. Jasjit Singh Gill, S. Amitoj Mann, and S. Kulwant Singh Ankhi, addressed the gathering. They informed the children that due to collusion with current governments, many factories are illegally discharging untreated toxic waste water into the ground, leading to harmful metals contaminating drinking water, which in turn is causing incurable diseases. They stressed that if water exists, only then humanity will survive.
