The 77th Republic Day was celebrated today at the Manawala Branch by the students of Bhagat Puran Singh Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Bhagat Puran Singh School for the Deaf, Bhagat Puran Singh Special School, and Bhagat Puran Singh Institute for Special Needs. These institutions are being run with the joint support of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar and Pingalwara Society of Ontario (Canada).
On this occasion, Dr. Karanjit Singh, Director Health Services (Retd.), Punjab, attended the program as the Chief Guest. After releasing colorful balloons into the sky, he hoisted the national flag and took the salute from the students participating in the march past.
Dr. Inderjit Kaur (Renu), Eye Specialist, attended the program as the Guest of Honour. After this, the students presented a colorful cultural program filled with patriotic spirit, which captivated the guests and the audience present there.
While addressing the gathering on the occasion of Republic Day, Chief Guest Dr. Karanjit Singh said that children are the future of the nation and should become responsible citizens of the country. Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Guest of Honour, also addressed the gathering and congratulated the Pingalwara family on Republic Day.
On this occasion, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Mukh Sewadar of Pingalwara Society, expressed deep concern over the crises facing the world and urged the government to take strong steps to protect the increasingly polluted environment.
At the end of the program, S. Rajbir Singh, member of the society, thanked the guests and briefed the audience about the activities of the Pingalwara institution. Students who excelled in various sports and academic activities were honored with prizes. The children also demonstrated impressive yoga performances.

Tajinder Singh Raja, S. Rajinderpal Singh, Gulshan Ranjan, S. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Prabhjit Kaur, Principal Naresh Kalia, Principal Daljit Kaur, Coordinator Praveen Kumar, Principal Anita Batra, S. Bakshish Singh, Madam Manpreet Kaur, Madam Harminder Kaur, Madam Renu Suri, along with the in-charges of various wards and departments and many students.
The Managing Director, staff members, and a large number of students of Sri Guru Hargobind Public School, Nadala also participated in the event. Laddoos and fruits were distributed among the children, and the guests present on the occasion were also honored.
