Organise a special three days theatre workshop at Pingalwara
In its efforts to provide better training and education to the resident the Pingalwara
Society took a new initiative by inviting Dr. Ankur Sharma of YUVAA Theatre, Jalandhar to
organise a special three days theatre workshop from 14-16 July 2022 at Manawala branch of
Pingalwara. The theme of the workshop was ‘Theater for life’. The workshop focused on
developing alertness of the mind, physical movements, coordination working in groups, voice
and speech development and personality development. This innovative workshop
concentrated on using theatre and acting techniques to help inhabitants of Pingalwara and
students of the schools running here to realise their potential and discover newer possibilities
of making their lives better. Dr. Harjit Singh, director of the acclaimed film, ‘ Eh Janam Tumahre
Lekhe’, based on the life and works of Bhagat ji, was also present during the workshop. Jugraj
Singh and other members of the team also provided active help during the workshop.The
workshop was especially useful for the Mentally challenged and physically handicapped
persons. The deaf students were given important inputs on hearing and mime. Students of
Bhagat Puran Singh Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Bhagat Puran Singh School of special
education, Bhagat Puran Singh school for the deaf, patients from the various wards of
Pingalwara immensely enjoyed the workshop. On commencement the workshop was blessed
by the president of Pingalwara Charitable Society, Dr. Inderjit Kaur.
