Three-Day Sugarcane Productivity Seminar in Punjab

A three-day seminar on increasing the weight of a single sugarcane stalk from 4 to 5 kilograms was organized at different sugar mills across Punjab.

The Bhagat Puran Singh Natural Farming Farm and Research Centre, run by the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar, is a unique and inspiring initiative. Its core objective is to promote harmony with nature while producing sustainable and nutritious food, ensuring long-term stability for farmers, and strengthening social welfare.

In this natural farming system, chemical fertilizers and pesticides are completely avoided, and only natural methods are adopted. This helps maintain soil fertility and prevents environmental damage. The vegetables, grains, and other crops grown here are used in Pingalwara’s ashrams, hospitals, and community kitchens (langars) for orphans, patients, elderly persons, and destitute individuals, ensuring they receive clean, safe, and nutritious food.

This farm also serves as a model for farmers, where they are educated about the benefits of natural farming, reduced cultivation costs, and improved yields. Through this initiative, farming gains a new direction while also giving practical shape to the ideals of simplicity, service, and harmony with nature preached by Bhagat Puran Singh Ji. The Bhagat Puran Singh Natural Farming Farm is not merely an agricultural project but a service movement, laying the foundation for a sustainable society, a safe environment, and prosperous farming.

Under the leadership of S. Rajbir Singh, In-charge of the Bhagat Puran Singh Natural Farming Farm (Dhirikot), the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, Amritsar, organized a special three-day seminar focused on increasing sugarcane productivity. These seminars were conducted at various sugar mills across Punjab. The main objective was to provide scientific, practical, and experience-based knowledge to farmers, landowners, and sugar industry stakeholders on increasing the weight of a single sugarcane stalk to 4–5 kilograms.

During the seminar, special participation was made by:
