Trijan and cultural program on 4th Aug., 2012 at Main Branch of Pingalwara
Women working on a charkha doing embroidery and sitting in a group, laughing and enjoying themselves, a typical ‘Trinjan’ scene of a village in Punjab was recreated at the Main Branch of Pingalwara on Saturday on 4thAugust 2012 by the caretakers of Pingalwara. They were competing for the folk craftwork now rarely seen. Exhibition of colourful craft and handiwork made by the residents of Pingalwara had many admirers. The programme culminated with a cultural show by the students of the Pingalwara schools.
On Saturday the event started by mentally challenged residents of the Institute lighting 20 lamps. Former Minister for Health Laxmi Kanta Chawla, S.G.P.C. Member Kiranjit Kaur former Governor RL Bhatia, Dr. BL Goyal Director of Vidya Sagar Institute of Mental Health were the Guests of Honor
