On 24th July 2022, the Bhagat Puran Singh Pingalwara Charitable Society (Regd.), Amritsar inaugurated its new branch at village Pamali, near Baddowal, District Ludhiana. The event began with the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib Path followed by Ardas, marking the official commencement of noble initiatives for the welfare of the local community. A large number of people from nearby villages attended the ceremony to show their support.
Prior to this, S. Gursewak Singh Madhok, a local philanthropist, was managing the Bebe Nanaki Ashram, which provided care for elderly residents. Due to his advancing age and with his children living abroad, he found it increasingly difficult to manage the ashram. In an act of generosity, he donated the Ashram to the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, ensuring that the work for the needy continues seamlessly.
Pingalwara has planned several initiatives at the Pamali Branch, including the establishment of a Sewing Centre to provide free stitching training for poor and needy girls from surrounding villages. In addition, a Gurmat School will be set up at the same location to provide spiritual and educational guidance to the youth of the area.
During the ceremony, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Mukh Sewadar of Pingalwara, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to S. Gursewak Singh Madhok for his generous donation and hoped that he would continue to offer guidance for the successful operation of the branch. S. Gursewak Singh Madhok, in turn, thanked Dr. Inderjit Kaur for relieving him of the day-to-day responsibilities of running the Ashram while entrusting it to Pingalwara’s care.
This new branch stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of service, compassion, and community development, reflecting the vision of Bhai Sahib Bhagat Puran Singh Ji.
