Pingalwara Celebrates 25th Silver Jubilee of Sangrur Branch

On March 29, 2025, the local branch of Pingalwara in Sangrur marked its 25th Silver Jubilee Foundation Day with a thought-provoking seminar centered around the theme, “Listen to the Cry of Water, Air, and Earth in the Light of the Sacred Elemental Forces: Wind Guru, Water Father, and Earth Mother.” The event, organized under the leadership of Dr. Inderjit Kaur, brought together community leaders, environmental experts, and passionate advocates for the preservation of our planet.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the pressing environmental issues that are directly affecting our daily lives and the future of the planet. The program was meticulously arranged by the dedicated team, including Tarlochan Singh Cheema (Chief Administrator), Harjit Singh Arora (Program Convener), Master Satpal Sharma, Surinder Pal Singh Siddiqui (Administrative Secretary), and Ravneet Kaur Pinky.

A Devotional Start

The event kicked off with soulful devotional hymns sung by the children of Pingalwara, setting the tone for a day of reflection and action. Rajbir Singh from Amritsar, an expert in natural farming, efficiently led the proceedings, while also explaining the underlying purpose of the seminar. His words resonated with the audience, emphasizing the need to listen to the cries of the earth, water, and air.

Insights from Environmental Experts

Renowned intellectuals and environmental advocates took center stage to share their valuable insights into the current state of our planet. Special guest speakers included Dr. Gurinder Kaur (Patiala), Gurcharan Singh Noorpur, Amritoj Mann, and Jaskeerat Singh (Ludhiana). These experts addressed the rampant environmental damage caused by human negligence and emphasized the need for immediate action.

The speakers highlighted the severe effects of pollution, noting that ordinary citizens are struggling to breathe clean air, and the groundwater levels are depleting at an alarming rate. They also pointed out that our unhealthy lifestyles, along with poor eating habits, are contributing to both environmental degradation and deteriorating health. The importance of protecting natural resources and restoring balance to the environment was at the heart of their message.

In one of the most striking points of the seminar, it was shared that a single tree has the ability to neutralize the harmful pollutants released by 130 liters of petrol combustion. This powerful statement underscored the importance of trees and the environment’s role in maintaining the health of both the planet and its inhabitants.

A Call for Sustainable Practices

During the seminar, Dr. A.S. Mann, the initiator of the “Pehli Mandi” movement, made a compelling case for the adoption of organic farming practices. He and other distinguished guests, including Prof. Vinod Chaudhary (Panjab University, Chandigarh), Pawan Sharma (Amritsar), Dr. Amandeep Kaur (Principal, Akal Degree College, Mastuana Sahib), Dr. Iqbal Singh (Sakrodi), Baba Balwant Singh (Lasara), and Baldev Singh Gossal, all praised Pingalwara’s ongoing efforts in promoting environmental protection. They shared inspiring stories based on the life and teachings of Bhagat Puran Singh Ji, whose tireless dedication to nature has been a beacon of hope for many.

Dr. Inderjit Kaur’s Message

In her vote of thanks, Dr. Inderjit Kaur eloquently addressed the attendees, urging them to identify and eliminate the root causes of pollution. She stressed the importance of taking concrete and strong steps toward pollution prevention. Dr. Kaur also advocated for the systematic promotion of natural farming and the ban on harmful pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

In an empowering speech, Dr. Kaur encouraged the students and attendees to take a pledge to protect the environment. She rallied the audience with slogans like “Save every drop of water,” “Water is life,” and “Trees bring happiness.” Her message left everyone inspired and reminded them of the collective responsibility we share to safeguard the planet for future generations.

A Day of Reflection and Action

The seminar was not just an event, but a call to action. It was a reminder that every individual has a part to play in preserving the earth’s natural resources. As Pingalwara continues its journey toward serving humanity and the environment, the Silver Jubilee Foundation Day served as a pivotal moment in reaffirming its commitment to creating a sustainable and healthy world for all.

By uniting individuals from different walks of life, this event showcased the power of collective effort in solving the world’s most urgent environmental issues. The event concluded on a hopeful note, with everyone in attendance pledging to protect and cherish the sacred forces of nature—water, air, and earth.
