All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (Regd) Amritsar.

Pingalwara Extends Relief to Flood-Affected Families Across Punjab

The All India Pingalwara Charitable Society has always come forward to help suffering humanity during natural disasters, not only in India but sometimes even abroad. For example, during the earthquakes and floods in Latur (Maharashtra), Chamoli (Uttarakhand), Pakistan, and Ladakh, assistance was provided to the affected people. Apart from this, the Society has also extended help to those affected by floods in Punjab.

This year, severe devastation has taken place near the Ravi and Beas rivers in Punjab. This destruction is the result of the greed of wealthy people who cut down trees in hilly areas, built four-lane highways, and constructed large hotels in the natural flow paths of water. Now, the poor are suffering the consequences.

Once again, the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (Regd.), Amritsar, has rendered a great service to humanity by extending substantial support to the flood-affected people of Punjab. In various districts such as Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Ajnala, and Gurdaspur, essential relief items including clothes, rations, medicines, and other necessary supplies were distributed. Doctors from Pingalwara also provided medical services.

On 29th August 2025, at the villages of Gharram and Vadda Sabhran in Tarn Taran district, Dr. Kanwar Vijay Pratap Singh and the Chief Sevadar of Pingalwara, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, along with their full team, reached the villages and distributed bottled water, 1 sack of sugar, 1 sack of rice, 2 sacks of potatoes, 1 quintal of flour, 1 tin of ghee, salt, and tea leaves on the first day.

On 31st August 2025, in Arazi Sabhran, Basti Gareeb Singh Wali, and Bahik Baheerian (Tarn Taran and Ferozepur), relief material such as rations, general supplies, and clothes were distributed, along with medical services. The team of doctors from Pingalwara treated patients suffering from skin diseases, fever, and waterborne illnesses.

On the same day, Pingalwara members, along with Sevadar S. Rajbir Singh, prepared langar (community meals) in the villages of Jastrawal, Nepal, Cheena, and Pogge (Ajnala, Amritsar) and distributed the food door to door.

On 4th September 2025, the Society distributed ration items such as tea leaves, sugar, oil, rice, red chili, moong dal, chickpeas, milk powder, flour, pickles, turmeric, spices, salt, roasted gram, onions, gas cylinders, mathiyan (savory snacks), namkeen, besan, and peas at Ghonewala, Machhian De Dera, and Ramdas (Gurdaspur district).

General items such as bathing soap, washing soap, dishwashing soap (Vim), small shampoo sachets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, amla oil, combs, torches, raincoats, candles, matchboxes, tarpaulins, mosquito nets, women’s essentials, sheets, and Odomos were also distributed. In addition, clothes including stitched and unstitched garments, kurta-pajamas, pants-shirts, children’s clothes, and blankets were provided to the flood-affected families. Medicines were given to chronically ill patients, and emergency cases were managed locally. Free medical camps were also set up to treat common flood-related diseases. MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap also joined Pingalwara Society in serving the flood-affected families.

On 8th September 2025, Pingalwara volunteers reached the villages of Gahalri, Kana, Thakarpur, Miani Malah, Faridpur, Bahmani, and Dorangla in Gurdaspur district. Here, along with ration, clothing, and other supplies, special medical services and medical check-ups were also provided.

Pingalwara volunteers are continuously visiting the flood-affected areas and delivering timely assistance to those in need. With clothes, rations, daily-use items, and medical services, the Society has become a strong support system for flood victims.

This relief service has not ended yet. Based on the needs of the people, the service will continue in the future as well.
