22ND Death Anniversary Celebration of Bhagat Puran Singh Ji

Bhagat Puran Singh ji 22nd Death Anniversary Celebrations commenced from 2nd August, 2014 by taking an impressive and well attended Environment Awareness March through the Main Bazar of Amritsar the Hall Gate. The March culminated at Ghanta Ghar Chowk. Students from all schools of Pingalwara, NCC cadets from 22 Punjab BN NCC Batala and students from Nishkam School participated. During the March, the slogans to keep the city clean were raised and participants warned everyone against the use of Polythene Bags. Cloth utility bags were distributed among the General Public.

On 2nd August, 2014, a Cancer Detection Camp and Medical Check-up Camp were also organized at Manawala Branch of Pingalwara. A total of 168 patients attended the camp. Free ECG and Blood Sugar Tests were also conducted.
On 3rd August, 2014 for the blessings from Waheguru Sri Akhand Path was started at Main Branch Gurdwara. This was followed by a Seminar on Natural Farming at Manawala Branch. This seminar was well-attended by progressive farmers of the state. Dr. Hardial Singh Dy Director Horticulture, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib was the Chief Guest and Dr. Mehal Singh Principal Khalsa College, Amritsar was the Guest of Honour. During the seminar, the latest techniques of Kudarti Kheti were discussed.
On 4th August, 2014, a Blood Donation Camp was organized at Main Branch of Pingalwara. A large number of youth, students from Amritsar Engineering College and Technology and members from various Blood Donation Societies participated. A total of 228 units of Blood was collected for utilization by patients of Pingalwara. The camp was inaugurated by Jathedar Mal Singh Singh Sahib of Takhat Kesgarh Sahib. An exhibition of handicraft made by Pingalwara resident was also organized and inaugurated by Dr. Tarundeep Kaur Dy Commissioner, Income Tax on this occasion. In the evening, an impressive and colourful Cultural Programme was organized by all schools of Pingalwara. Dr. Mehal Singh was the Chief Guest on this occasion. A poster of Film ‘Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe’ is being produced by Pingalwara was also released.
On 5th August, 2014, Bhog of Sri Akhand Path was held at Main Branch of Pingalwara. This was followed by Kirtan Darbar. The Gurbani Kirtan was performed by children of Pingalwara and Prof. Kartar Singh of Gurmat Sangat Academy Anandpur Sahib who recited the Kirtan with traditional string instruments.
On this occasion, two Medical Buses fully equipped for diagnosis of cancer & Breast Cancer symptoms were dedicated by Roko Cancer Movement Global Ambassador Mr. Kulwant Dhaliwal to the people of Punjab.
On this historic moment ‘Bhagat Puran Singh Manav Sewa Sanman’ were conferred to prominent persons who had excelled themselves in various social and religious fields. These were Mr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal Global Ambassador Roko Cancer, Principal Baljeet Singh Sahibzada Jhujar Singh Gurmat Missionary College Roper, Prof. Kartar Singh Gurmat Sangeet Academy Anandpur Sahib and S. Hardeep Singh Beniwal. Six new books were also released on this solemn occasion.
On this, occasion Dr. Jairup Singh former Vice Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University and Central University of Bathinda. Gunbir Singh ECOO Sikh, Principal Jagdish Singh Director of Four S Institutions. Dr. Mehal Singh Principal Khalsa College Amritsar, Giani Kewal Singh former Jathedar Takhat Sri Dam Dama Sahib and Bibi Kiranjit Kaur Member SGPC alongwith Dr. Jagdeepak Singh Vice President, Rajbir Singh Member of Pingalwara Society and Col. Darshan Singh Bawa Administrator were present.
