A destitute man named Santosh Kumar, approximately 60 years old, was admitted to the Pingalwara Institution on 02.10.2025. At the time of admission, the patient was physically weak and unable to walk. After receiving treatment, Mr. Gulshan Ranjan, Medical Social Worker, repeatedly interacted with the patient, during which he revealed his home address as Hariharpur, District Darbhanga (Bihar). In this regard, Mr. Subhash Chander, Social Worker Chandigarh, contacted the patient’s village. The family informed that Santosh Kumar had gone to Gujarat in 1996 in search of work, and since then he had completely lost contact with his family. Despite making every possible effort to find him, the family could not trace him and eventually lost all hope.

A few days ago, when a video sent by the Pingalwara Society (institution) was shared on the mobile phone of one of the family members, a wave of joy spread not only throughout the family but also across the entire village. Santosh’s father had six brothers, and therefore the family is considered highly respected in the village.
Today, on 19.05.2026, his brothers, Surjit Kumar Jha and Ranjit Kumar Jha, arrived at Pingalwara Institution to take him home. After nearly 30 years, the happiness of Santosh Kumar and his family while returning home was beyond words. It was an extremely emotional and memorable moment.
On this occasion, the institution respectfully handed over the patient to his family members and conveyed best wishes for his future life. The family stated that this moment was nothing less than a rebirth for them and that they would remain forever grateful to Pingalwara Institution.
As always, Pingalwara Institution continues its selfless service for destitute, helpless, and sick individuals, working continuously for the welfare of humanity. Such reunions not only bring happiness to families but also spread a positive message throughout society.
