The Delhi LG (Lieutenant Governor) and senior BJP leader Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited the Manawala Branch of the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society (Regd.), Amritsar. On his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the Chief Sewadar of Pingalwara, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, and the children.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu said that Delhi is facing a major pollution problem, and efforts should be made in collaboration with the Pingalwara institution to make Delhi pollution-free. Regarding the proposal put forward by Dr. Inderjit Kaur to establish a University of Environment Studies in the name and vision of Bhagat Puran Singh Ji, he assured that he was committed to supporting Pingalwara’s service and would continue to do so.
He said, “My family and I have had a long-standing association with Pingalwara. Pingalwara is one of the unique institutions in the world. Its founder, Bhagat Puran Singh Ji, devoted his entire life to the service of humanity. Today, under the leadership of Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Pingalwara is not only serving humanity but is also undertaking significant initiatives for the welfare of society and the environment.”
He further stated that two projects are already being undertaken in collaboration with Pingalwara, and efforts would continue to work together for the welfare of society. He appreciated the various initiatives being undertaken by Pingalwara, including natural farming and efforts to protect the environment from pollution. He expressed his desire to work together with Pingalwara to address Delhi’s serious pollution problem and contribute towards making the capital pollution-free.
Dr. Inderjit Kaur thanked Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu for visiting Pingalwara and said that he has been associated with the institution for a long time and has always remained willing to contribute towards its activities and service.
Dr. Inderjit Kaur also honoured Shri Taranjit Singh Sandhu on the occasion.
